The number of companies that are licensed to import and distribute pharmaceuticals is around one hundred and twenty, a third of whom are not currently operating in the market, a third are but not as members of the LPIA, and 44 companies operating as LPIA members and responsible for 90% of the pharmaceuticals imports and listed hereafter :
Licensed companies who are not LPIA members are not legally obliged to join us, since we are not an “Order” organized by law, as in the case of liberal professions. These companies remain subject, however, to the control of the Order of Pharmacists, since their full timer pharmacist in charge must be a member.
